Away for a while March 13, 2006
Posted by Patrick in : Cycling, Music , 3 commentsWell, it’s almost been a month to the day since my last entry. Sorry, I think my desire (and maybe commitment) for blogging has been waning. Here are some of the things that have transpired in the past month:
- I just got my haircut yesterday, after growing it out for a little over five months. It was the longest that it’s ever been. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures, so I don’t have any evidence.
- Saw The Books and The Fiery Furnaces lately. The Furnaces show was not as good as when I saw them a year ago - different drummer, different sound, different venue. But I really enjoyed the Books. The band is two guys - one on guitar and one on cello. Very beautiful and humorous in concert.
- My roommate Walt has returned home from his three month stint in Oklahoma. It’s good to have him back. He, Ken, and I are back to our weekly bike rides. We went for a twenty mile ride yesterday. We’re starting to train for a Washington DC - Pittsburgh bike ride that we hope to do in April. The entire trip is 340 miles. We originally hoped to do it in three days, but we’re now thinking four. The trip will take us along the C&O canal, which starts in Georgetown, DC and extends all the way to Cumberland, Maryland. From there, you pick up the Great Allegheny Passeage from Cumberland to McKeesport, PA. Then, we’ll somehow have to make the 20 mile trek from McKeesport to our home in the War Streets. A great link on the trails can be found here. And here is a log of three guys who did it in three days.
- And Walt’s selling our house! Any takers? So I’m starting to consider buying one of my own.
